Assiut Governor inspects small industries complex in Abnub
Major General Dr. Hesham Abu El-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, conducted a field tour of the Small and Medium Industries Complex in Arab El-Awamer, Abnub District. This complex is one of the governorate’s most important industrial development projects. The complex, located on an area of 71 acres, includes 272 industrial units with an investment cost estimated at EGP 900 million. This investment falls within the framework of the state’s strategy to support the industrial sector and promote integrated economic development, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The governor was accompanied during the tour by a number of executive leaders and entities concerned with supporting investment and small projects, including Ihab Abdel Hamid, Head of the Assiut Branch of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency; Dalia Tadros, Director of the Upper Egypt Development Authority Branch in the governorate; Suzanne Mohamed Rady, Head of the Abnub District and City; Amal Gamil, Director of Public Relations and Follow-up at the Drinking Water and Wastewater Company; Engineer Wafaa Mahrous, Director of the Investment Department in the governorate; Shaimaa Magdy, Director of the Assiut Branch of the Industrial Development Authority; Ismail Abu El-Leil, Director of the Complex; and Nafsiya Abdel Salam, Director of Community Participation in the governorate, along with a number of directors of technical departments concerned with investment and industry. The inspection tour included visits to several industrial units that have already begun production. The governor monitored the progress of work in factories specializing in the production of paper products, drip irrigation hoses, and electrical panels, as well as factories for medical gloves and soap products. He reviewed the various manufacturing stages and listened to a detailed explanation from those in charge of the production lines about operating mechanisms and quality standards.
The Assiut governor emphasized that the state, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is paying great attention to developing the industrial sector, particularly in the Upper Egypt governorates, which offer promising opportunities in this field. He noted that establishing fully integrated industrial complexes represents a qualitative leap towards achieving sustainable development based on stimulating investment and creating real job opportunities.
